Andrew Weatherall has remixed Grinderman‘s ‘Heathen Child’, and FACT has the resulting low-end-heavy disco bomb for you to stream.
‘Heathen Child’ is Nick Cave and co’s new single, due to be released on September 6 by Mute. It heralds the band’s sophomore album, Grinderman 2, which is due out on September 13. The single is available as a double A-side 12″ coloured vinyl + poster, including the track ‘Star Charmer’ and a version of ‘Heathen Child’ featuring legendary guitarist, King Crimson leader and Eno collaborator, Robert Fripp.
The iTunes version of Grinderman 2 will feature Weatherall’s sterling ‘Bass’ remix of ‘Heathen Child’, which teases a low-slung, snake-charming post-punk groove out of the original, complete with speaker-ripping subs and more echo than a batcave. Check it out here:
