The 55th instalment of Fabric’s mix CD series will be compiled by Shackleton.
Needless to say, this is a good thing. Shackleton came to people’s attention running seminal dubstep label Skull Disco with Appleblim, and was one of the key figures that led techno producers to embrace dubstep – Ricardo Villalobos remixing his doom-laden anthem ‘Blood on my Hands’. Like all good things, Skull Disco came to an end, and Shackleton moved to Berlin, recording an incredible triple-pack for Perlon last year.
Shackleton’s also considered one of electronic music’s premier live performers, and Fabric 55 will comprise a studio-recorded live set by Shack, featuring – we presume – plenty of new material. We’ll know for sure when we have the tracklist.
Release date isn’t 100% yet, but the news was confirmed on Twitter this morning. Update: it’s December 6 – see comments section. Thanks Mel.
