Britain’s most unlikely pop star will release a new 12″ next month for Untold’s Hemlock label.
Hemlock is, of course, the label that gave James Blake his start, releasing his debut single ‘Air and Lack Thereof’ (reviewed by us at the time, naturally). You probably know the rest of the story: Blake went on to release for Hessle Audio, R&S and more before signing his self-titled debut album to a major and becoming one of Britain’s most hyped (and, musically, most uncompromising) young pop stars.
The new single, ‘Order’ / ‘Pan’ is a return to the abstract, compressed dance music that Blake initially made his name on, and will be released on July 11. You can hear clips of both tracks at HMV’s pre-order page.
