The emerging beatsmith adds another influential association to his resume and shares some recent remixes.
Djavan “D33J” Santos is a member of the Wedidit collective with like-minded producers Shlohmo, Groundislava, RL Grime, and man-of-the-moment Ryan Hemsworth.
Now, the Los Angeles via San Francisco beatsmith is signing with noted avant hip-hop label Anticon. To mark the occasion, he is sharing three hazy, emotive remixes of tracks by Bobby Valentine (not to be confused with the English violinist, but the R&B singer now known as Bobby V), Drake, and Sigur Ros.
The standout is his 808-refix of Drake’s Weeknd-assisted ‘Good Ones Go;’ download all three tracks below. In addition, D33J will be performing at Anticon’s LA Boiler Room tomorrow night, with new associates Baths, Jel, Doseone, Odd Nosdam, Raleigh Moncrief, and Sodapop. The flyer for the event follows.
