So this may be a total cock-up on their side, but Daft Punk’s Vevo page currently has the duo listed for a live performance at Californian festival Coachella [via In the Mix].
Coachella, of course, has already announced its Punk-free line-up, but it’s become known for surprise appearances (last year’s first weekend featured unannounced spots from Skrillex, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Usher, 50 Cent, Eminem and, of course, that holographic Tupac Shakur), and very few surprises would beat that of a Daft Punk sighting. The listing can be found here, though we expect it’ll have disappeared once this news has broken much further. Daft Punk’s new album Random Access Memories is due in May.
Update: As pointed out on the FACT Facebook page, Vevo’s live listings are pulled from Songkick, and given that Songkick’s listings appear to be the source of every fake concert rumour going, this suddenly looks a lot less likely.
Another update: The listing has now been taken down.
