The Welshmen offer the second single from their new album, Rewind The Film.

After sharing the album’s slow-burning title track, which was dominated by a guest appearance from Sheffield songwriter Richard Hawley, the Manic Street Preachers have now revealed the lead single proper, ‘Show Me The Wonder’. Notably more buoyant than ‘Rewind The Film’, the song features some chirpy horn backing and a turn on the trumpet from Manics drummer Sean Moore.

The single is set to come out on 9 September with the album to follow on 16 September. The Manics have also announced a string of dates across the UK, starting on 13 September in Newport, Wales.

The band recently took on the English Defence League after the far-right group used their song ‘If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next’ – famously about the Spanish civil war – to promote a rally.
