The blessed union of Apparat and Modeselektor continues to furnish us with new music.
The Teutonic three-piece will finally release sophomore LP II next month, which promises more elegant electronica in the mould of 2009’s self-titled debut for BPitch Control.
The latest pre-release transmission is ‘This Time’, a keening piece of digital shoegaze. It’s shimmering stuff, closer in spirit to Border Community’s emo-electronics than much of Monkeytown’s back catalogue. The track is available to stream over at NPR – head here to listen.
II is due on August 2 through Monkeytown. FACT TV caught up with Moderat last month, grilling the trio on the process behind the new record and the festival circuit’s ongoing “LED war”.
