‘Kool FM’ – it’s as if he knew we’d all be slobbering over the radio rip, eh?

Last night two UK radio stations premiered the first glimpse of material from Four Tet’s forthcoming album Beautiful Rewind – ‘Kool FM’ was featured by Zane Lowe on his BBC Radio 1 show and by Ben UFO on Rinse FM.

A radio rip of the track has duly appeared on YouTube, revealing to the rest of the world that Kieran Hebden is still ploughing a heavier, dancefloor-centred furrow – seems he’s also thrown in more of the ragged-edged samples and percussion also heard in his peer/pal/accomplice Dan Snaith’s material as Daphni.

Update: The radio rip has now been removed from YouTube, but you can listen again to either of those BBC shows on their websites, or hear the song in another YouTube video recorded at Four Tet’s Plastic People show at the weekend.
