Loss of bassist and guitarist leads to revamped band line up.
Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has announced a new band line up ahead of the start of their North American Tension 2013 tour, which starts today in Minnesota and runs until the end of November.
Joining Reznor on stage to perform the band’s latest album Hesitation Marks will be Alessandro Cortini and Josh Eustis on keys, Robin Finck on guitar, Lisa Fischer and Sharlotte Gibson on backing vocals, Pino Palladino on bass and Ilan Rubin on drums. This new line up mixes old and new NIN collaborators, with a diversity of backgrounds that shows Reznor likes to keep things fresh and varied.
Cortini and Finck have both worked and toured with NIN and Reznor before: the former toured with them from 2005 to 2008 while the latter joined them back in May this year but has been collaborating with Reznor since 1994. Eustis is one half of the pioneering electronic duo Telefon Tel Aviv and Palladino is a veteran and legendary bassist whose name should be familiar to many having worked with everyone from The Roots to The Who and Morcheeba.
Fischer and Gibson are veteran vocalists adding a somewhat soulful and pop touch to the proceedings. Fischer sung backup for Tina Turner and Luther Vandross and has appeared on stage with The Rolling Stones. Gibson is best known for her backup duties on American Idol. As for Rubin he contributed to the latest NIN album and has played with Lostprophets as well as handling drums on Paramore‘s latest self-titled album.
