The video was made using an electron microscope.
If you’ve ever wanted to know what happens when a needle runs through the grooves of a record, then YouTube channel Applied Science has uploaded a video that lets you see close up.
The video was captured with the aid of an electron microscope, and required small sections to be cut out of a vinyl LP to fit inside the chamber. As the microscope finds it difficult to pick up a clear signal what the video actually features is a stop-motion animation, but it’s still impressive nonetheless.
