The enigmatic producer’s debut 12″ gets a second life thanks to Demdike Stare.
Demdike Stare’s DDS label has reissued cult Japanese producer Shinichi Atobe’s debut 12″, Ship-Scope.
Originally released on Berlin’s Chain Reaction label in 2001, the record attained semi-mythical status thanks to it dreamy quality and the producer’s immediate drift into obscurity after release. A favourite of Demdike Stare, it led the pair to track Atobe down and release a brilliant debut album called Butterfly Effect in 2014 – an LP that landed in FACT’s 50 best albums of 2014.
You can pick up the 12″ at Boomkat now.
