And Keanu will most definitely be in it.

In an interview with Forbes, writer/director Alex Winter, of Bill & Ted and The Lost Boys fame revealed that third installment of the Bill & Ted franchise will be ready to be made soon. A script is in progress, being written by the original two’s screenwriters Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon .

When asked if he’d be doing anything to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Lost Boys, Winter said: “I’d be happy to do something if it was easy, but I’m so busy and it’s entirely possible I’ll be knee deep in Bill & Ted 3 around that time, so right now that’s got pole position.”

He continued: “This is Hollywood so I don’t believe it’s happening until it’s coming out on VOD but we’re all working on the film everyday at the moment in terms of the pre-prep type work so it’s an active project. Hopefully we’ll be shooting it shortly,” adding that he believes it will begin by the end of this year or early 2017.

When asked if Keanu Reeves would return to his role as titular Ted, Winters said: “How the fuck would we make it if he wasn’t on board? People always ask if Keanu’s doing it and I’m like, ‘No, I’m making a Bill movie.’ Of course he’s in it. I can’t make a Bill & Ted movie without Keanu.”

Winter is currently working on a documentary called Who the Fuck is Frank Zappa?
