The Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu – formerly known as The KLF – have announced a mystery event that will happen this summer in Liverpool.
A poster tweeted by the band earlier today says that they will be “unearthing aspects of the 2023 trilogy across Liverpool,” while listing the date and times of 00.23 on August 23 to 23.23 on August 27.
The band, formed of Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty, teased their return in January with a bizarre YouTube video collage, later confirming it with a poster shared on their Twitter account. Last month, they announced the release of a book called 2023: A Trilogy, set for publication on Faber & Faber on August 23.
2017 marks band’s 30th anniversary of the KLF, who initially formed under the moniker The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu. It’s also the 23rd anniversary of their infamous Burn A Million Quid stunt. The band have repeatedly used the number 23 in their work, so this could help provide a hint of what’s to come in August.
