Heartbreak are set to build on the cult success of their 2008 debut album, Lies, with a new EP and a run of UK live dates as part of the NME Radar Tour. 

Italo and electro-inflected disco drama is still the order of the day on the three new tracks – ‘My Tears Electro’, ‘Destroy All Power’ and Get The Drive – which form the backbone of the Deceit EP, which is due out on May 25. The lead track and chief selling-point, though, is the remix by Vitalic of Heartbreak’s best tune to date, the uber-anthemic ‘We’re Back’. Vitalic, of course, is the brains behind such classic arpeggiated dancefloor-destroyers as ‘La Rock 01’, and his encounter with Heartbreak is as extravagant explosive as you’d hope. There’s another ‘We’re Back’ remix by Romantix included on the EP, while FACT favourites Allez-Allez offer a fresh interpetation of ‘Soul Transplant’

Meanwhile, there’s the small matter of the NME Radar Tour, which Heartbreak are playing alongside La Roux, Magistrates and The Chapman Family. The duo of Sebastian Muravchik (vocals) and Ali Renault (electronics) have added a drummer to their ranks, which feels like a bit of a concession on one hand, but on the other is a move that will doubtless help their sound expand to fill larger venues and provide audiences weened on guitar-bands something more "concrete" to latch onto. The tour’s already in full swing; the band have also announced a number of one-off shows and festival dates:
