Brian Eno will be having a chat with Richard Dawkins at the Oxford Playhouse this Friday.

Eno is, of course, the man whose production added unparalleled vibrancy to records in the 70s and 80s by Roxy Music, Talking Heads and more, and whose Ambient series remains the high watermark for ‘backgroud’ music. More recently he’s collaborated with Talking Heads’ David Byrne on a full-length album, been on Question Time, painted the Sydney Opera House with an orange light projection, taken part in a great big interview for FACT, and all sorts.

Dawkins, meanwhile, is the Darwin-loving author behind 1976 book The Selfish Gene, which popularised the current gene-centered view of evolution, as well as more recent seminal science books like The Blind Watchmaker and The Extended Phenotype. Him and Eno will be nattering about "the experience and creativity of out world", which will doubtless be a blast.
