Jarvis Cocker and friends will "install themselves" at the Village Underground venue in East London for five days in November.

The event, or installation, or whatever the hell you want to call it, is set to run from Sunday 7 – Wednesday 11; it will be open from 6pm each day and entry will be free. It all culminates in a concert at 9pm on the Wednesday, tickets for which are £30 and can be got here .

Entitled Happening – hopefully with some degree of irony – it’s the follow-up to a similar project which Cocker headed up in Paris earlier this year. During the course of the five days in EC2, the former Pulp frontman and his acolytes will soundtrack various exercise classes (yoga, aerobics, etc) and members of the public – er, common people? – will be invited to participate in live improvisations (bring your own instruments). Well-known guest artists will also join in at various points.

The whole thing will be webcast at jarviscocker.net
