Brian Eno is the subject of a new BBC Arena documentary set to premiere towards the end of this month.
Apparently Eno – best known for pioneering the idea of ambient music on albums like Discreet Music(1975) and Music for Airports (1978), his role in early Roxy Music, and producing a range of bands including Talking Heads and U2 – has allowed the Arena filmmakers unprecedented access to his life in the studio, and conversation touches on such topics as “science, art, systems analysis, producing and cybernetics”.
It’s about time that Arena got round to featuring Eno; his ‘Another Green World’ has soundtracked the irregular arts strand’s opening titles since 1975.
Arena: Brian Eno – Another Green World will be broadcast on BBC Four at 9pm on Friday 22 January.
