Remember Pivot? The Warp signed London-via-Australia three-piece who released a really-quite-good album in 2008, O Soundtrack My Heart?
Well, they’re back. With a new name: PVT, after a legal claim from a US band who apparently had the name Pivot first and couldn’t hack the competition.
PVT will release a new album, Church with No Magic, on August 9 via Warp, and for a taste of what to expect, you can watch the video for lead single ‘Window’ here:
Directed by Clemens Habicht, who’s worked with Friendly Fires, it was edited at Abbey Road, and captures a live gig from the first person perspective of the band – “the band and sound split visually into its three component parts, then rhythmically layered”, giving viewers “a unique chance to feel what it might possibly be like being in PVT, on tour, on stage.”
As well as sporting a fancy video, the new album also sees Richard Pike provide a lot more vocals. Full tracklist for Church with No Magic follows.
