Remember Meleka?

The London singer was the voice of one of UK Funky’s best vocal hits, ‘Go Home’, in that blossoming period where there seemed to be a new vocal masterpiece emerging from that scene every two minutes. Or at least a new Crazy Cousinz mix of a US R’n’B track.

Anyway, Meleka’s back with a new single, ‘Miss Me’, and someone in an office somewhere has pulled a smart move getting Swindle in for remix duty. The young grime producer already showed he’s got a way with vocals on the excellent Who Said Funk EP, and here he combines the booming drums from ‘Air Miles’, his biggest track to date, with a creeping melody rooted in grime but as catchy as any pop tune.
