It’s been a while since we last heard a full record by Rustie.
The last single from the pint-sized Glasweigian hip-hop maverick, in fact, was 2009’s brilliant Bad Science EP, on Numbers. There’s been a few remixes – of Crookers, Kesha and more – since, but no full solo releases. Until now.
On October 4, Rustie will release Sunburst, his first release for seminal electronic label Warp Records since signing to them what seems like ages ago. Featuring five new Rustie productions, it boasts “sci-fi stadium rock”, “low-riding smashers” and allegedly hints at the direction he’ll take on his full-length album for Warp, which is pencilled in for next year.
You can stream a mix of all five tracks from Sunburst, mixed by Rustie, below. It’s available to pre-order now at Bleep. Full tracklist and artwork follow the stream.
