Tussle are currently working on their fourth album, with Optimo‘s JD Twitch in the producer’s chair.
The San Francisco-based band have already made new recordings with Andy Cabic (formerly of Tussle, now the creative driving force behind Vetiver) and Tom Monahan (Au Revoir Simone, Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom) which they’re now taking taking into the studio for the final production and mixdown by Twitch. The album, which is as yet untitled, will be released in the first half 2011 by Smalltown Supersound. It’s the follow-up to 2008’s Cream Cuts.
Optimo – JD Twitch and his partner in crime JG Wilkes – recently called time on their seminal Glasgow clubnight of the same name, in order to concentrate on other creative endeavours. They certainly look to be using their newfound free time well: we’re particularly excited about the upcoming reissue of Chris Carter’s 1986 album The Space Between on their Optimo Music label..
