Up-and-coming grime producer Swindle helms this Friday’s FACT mix.

Well, we say grime; Swindle’s already more than proved his versatility in other areas – we first heard him on early 2010’s Who Said Funk EP, a collaborative vocal project that delved into house, R’n’B and more – but it’s clear that like Elijah and Skilliam’s Butterz label, who’ve taken him under their wing, it’s the gritty stuff where his heart lies. ‘Air Miles’, a four track record for Planet Mu that followed Who Said Funk showcased Swindle’s style perfectly; solid kicks, sawn-off basslines and synths that writhe and squeal like the best Joker tracks.

Confession: Swindle actually did a FACT mix last year, shortly after ‘Air Miles’, but we lost it. Only time that’s happened. Sorry Swindle. Anyway, he’s now done another one to coincide with ‘Moodswings’, his next release for Butterz. As you might expect, ‘Moodswings’ acts as the centrepiece of this mix, surrounded by close to a dozen Swindle productions and cuts from Royal T, SRC, Starkey and more.
