Replica, the latest full-length from Oneohtrix Point Never, is based on lo-fi audio sourced from television advertisement compilations. So far, so Oneohtrix.

What that bit of press blurb doesn’t tell you, however, is that Replica is perhaps the most interesting Oneohtrix album yet. It would’ve been extremely easy for Dan Lopatin to make another album of long, drifting synth epics – and no doubt it would’ve been successful – but Replica gets way more complex than that, switching from haunting classical to the sort of jazz jingles that will one day reverberate around James Ferraro’s tomb. It’s Oneohtrix at his hardest to pin down, and it features some of his very best material yet.

Amongst Replica‘s highlights is its piano-driven title track, which we’re premiering below.
