Ministry of Sound is releasing a double-disc compilation to celebrate 15 years of Francois K, Joe Claussell and Danny Krivit’s Body & SOUL parties.

Body & SOUL: 15 Years, mixed by the trio, is due out on November 21 and aims to “capture all the special moments from the club’s history”. Conceived in the tradition of such seminal New York parties as David Mancuso’s Loft, Nicky Siano’s Gallery and Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage, Body & SOUL launched one Sunday morning in a disused warehouse in lower Manhattan, a venue that would later become Club Vinyl. Francois K and his pal Danny Krivit helmed B&S for its first two parties, revelling in their own freewheeling (read: non-existent) musical policy, and for their third bash invited the then little-known Joe Claussell to join them. The rest, as they say, is history.

Of the new compilation Francois says: “After having already produced five compilations of the party’s big anthems, we always felt that when the time was right we would also like to showcase and share with everyone those timeless jams that we can’t ever get enough of. The commemoration of our 15th Anniversary couldn’t seem like a better occasion, so here’s hoping that this album of Body & SOUL classics will keep you grooving for years to come and help you share a bit of the joy we feel every time we play together.”

It’s a feast of classic dancefloor groovers, some of which are bona fide pop hits, other’s more like secret weapons. DJ Duke, Whitney Houston, Hugh Masekela, 808 State, Black Rascals, Vince Watson – these are just some of the contributors to what is, quite honestly, the most enjoyable mix you’ll hear all year.

We’ve got five copies to give away. To enter the draw, drop us a line on competitions@thevinylfactory.com.
