The Minneapolis MC has put up a new EP for free download.

The seven-track EP, entitled The Bite Marked Heart, is his first release proper since 2009’s Us. The Rhymesayers signed rapper – who’s shared the label at times with Atmosphere and DOOM – manages to keep things earnest without slipping into triteness. As with Ali’s previous work, the wordplay is fluid, the production slick and organic. The record is a prologue to his fifth LP proper, Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color, which should see release before the end of the year.
