‘New France’, the new Zola Jesus-featuring single by Orbital has been remixed by Night Slugs’ L-Vis 1990.
For someone whose debut album Neon Dreams was so poppy, it’s a pretty heavy and dissonant take on the original, with a gurgling acid underbelly and a heavily flangered intro leading to a gnarly drop and then back out again. The bit with the vocal reversed kills us; it’s like the reverse Bjork track from Tri Angle’s FACT mix back in day. The whole thing’s available to stream at Pitchfork.
