We’ve long been singing the praises of Distal, an Atlanta producer mixing up hip-hop, footwork and dubstep in a way that’s refreshingly unpredictable, for a while now. Signed to Pinch’s Tectonic for an album deal, he’ll be releasing his second single for the label on March 5 in ‘Booyant’ / ‘Amphibian’. You can stream the lurching B-side below; yes, those skittish Distal hi-hats are there, but this owes more to the atmosphere of classic dubstep than it does anything from Chicago. No wonder Pinch is a sucker for it.
