Danny Wolfers is a mischievous fellow at the best of times.
His music, raw and lo-fi, runs the gamut from acid to ambient; his agenda is often humorous, sometimes obscure. The Dutchman seems to have excelled himself in the screwiness stakes with his latest release. UK label SIGNALS have put a four-track EP of self-styled ‘North Sea House’, inspired by the coastline of the North East of England.
Musically, it’s a recognizably Legowelt, all eerie atmospherics and granular synth lines. Rather brilliantly, Side One Track Two looks like it’s dedicated to John Nettles’ wildcard Jersey detective. You can stream snips of the EP below.
