A picture paints a thousand words, or so goes the saying. Recent photos of Massive Attack in the studio are a little more cryptic than that – but they suggest that they might just have an interesting collaboration on the way.

As Mixmag report, the Bristolian trip-hop team uploaded a clutch of photos onto their Facebook today. The images show the group sharing a studio with Damon Albarn, XL head Richard Russell, and soul legend Bobby Womack.

Loathe as we are to add two and two and make five, we do already know that Albarn, Russell and Womack have all been in the studio working on Womack’s forthcoming comeback album, The Bravest Man In The Universe. It also wouldn’t be the first time Massive Attack are creatively involved with any of the above: Albarn featured on the band’s last record, 2010’s Heligoland.

You can see the images over on the band’s Facebook page. If you’d rather not descend to conjecture, you can, at the very least, enjoy Robert Del Naja’s striking ‘self portrait from studio toilet’.
