The cat’s out the bag: Laurel Halo has signed to Hyperdub.
The label, also home of Kode9, Hype Williams, King Midas Sound and many others, will release Halo’s debut album, Quarantine in May.
Laurel Halo debuted in 2010 with the self-released King Felix EP, a free record that was later granted a full vinyl release by Hippos in Tanks. In mid-2011, Halo released her full Hippos in Tanks debut, the sublime Hour Logic EP, and also found time to release an excellent – and underrated – cassette-only ambient release for NNA Tapes. Before Quarantine drops, she’ll inaugurate Mute’s new sub-label Liberation Technologies with a single under the name King Felix.
