The cat is out the bag: 4AD have signed Spaceghostpurrp.

We’ve known about this for a while, and it makes total sense – the Miami rapper and A$AP Rocky collaborator has been one of the most talked-about artists on the web this year, with a distinctive style that plays out like ’90s Houston burnt to the ground, and it was only a matter of time before a label from outside the hip-hop world reached out to set up an official release (an interesting trend of late: see also Fat Possum with MellowHype, Type with Main Attrakionz and Clams Casino, et al).

4AD will release The Chronicles of Spaceghostpurrp on June 12 – it compiles “both new and old material, tracking the early years of this intoxicating prodigal talent.”
