In a new interview with Q, Icelandic dreamers Sigur Ros have revealed that they’ll release a new album this year.
Titled Valtari (it translates to “steamroller”), you’d be forgiven for thinking that we’re on for Sigur Ros’s heaviest album yet. According to frontman Jonsi, however, the name was picked because “the music kind of just rolls over you … in a good way.”
Valtari will be released on May 28, and is apparently centred more on electronics that previous Sigur Ros records [via Pitchfork].
Update: And you can now stream a track from it, ‘Ekki Múkk ’, below.
