Rick Rock, the Sacramento producer best known as one of the architects of the Bay Area’s hyphy sound, as well as for providing the beats of hits like Fabolous’ ‘Can’t Deny It’ and Jay-Z’s ‘Change the Game’, steps out from behind the console for ‘Super Aries’. Over a slow mob creeper with subtle vocoder interjections, Rick intones his slightly bugged-out raps in a deep, deliberate voice as cool as a cucumber dipped in ranch, lifts a recognizable bit from Slick Rick for the hook, and brags about his beats sounding like “captain caveman blap.”
