Diplo’s all over the shop at the moment. Whether he’s putting pen to paper, jamming with Usher or causing controversy, the man’s patently no slouch.

The latest dispatch is a new track from Major Lazer, Diplo’s dancehall-inspired project with Switch. As The Line Of Best Fit note, ‘Get Free’ features vocal contributions from Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors.

‘Get Free’ isn’t as exuberant as your usual Major Lazer fare: sun-dappled, maybe, but far from sizzling. No bonkers bashment stylings here; instead, Diplo and Switch turn out a gelatinous bit of skank-ready reggae. Amber Coffman’s melodramatic voice coils, loops and harmonizes with itself. There’s a tweeness to proceedings, but things are definitely improved by the cheerily low-spec animation that accompanies the clip.
