Following on from Mosca’s maiden voyage last week, house star Julio Bashmore has hosted his first full Radio 1 Show.

Bashmore’s new slot is part of the In New DJs We Trust series on Thursday evenings. The slot, which runs from 21:00 until 22:00, rotates between Bashmore, Mosca, B-Traits and Jordan Suckley.

Bashmore’s definitely an eclectic selector: his inaugural tune is No More’s no-wave classic ‘Suicide Commando’. DJ Rashad, Addison Groove, The-Dream, Earth People and Kenny Dixon Jr all feature. There’s also brand new material from Girl Unit’s forthcoming Club Rez EP.

Bashmore’s catchphrase throughout is “mysteriously swashbuckling house music”- confusing, but definitely better than “Comin’ atcha through the cornflakes”. Click here to listen to the set on BBC iPlayer.
