Perennially popular club brand Secretsundaze have announced another daytime bash, the first of their Summer series.
The May 6 event will serve as the inaugural event in the L-shaped room at Hackney Downs Studios: expect plenty of space and natural light. Detroit-indebted producer Deetron takes top billing. His idiosyncratic brand of techno has found outlets on Clone, Music Man and Strictly Rhythm, and his vinyl-heavy set should be a real summertime treat.
California’s reliably deep Aybee will also be making an exclusive appearance. The man has turned out tracks for Ron Trent’s Prescription label, founded his own label (Deepblak) and stepped onto the remix for Ethyl & Huxley. Third Ear’s Wbeeza will round out the bill. His EPs show a restless musical imagination at work; his tracks are forever flitting from idea to idea. Steel yourself for an exuberant fusion of house, hip-hop and jazz. Secretsundaze fellows Giles Smith and Jamie Priestly complete the line-up.
The event will run from 2pm until midnight. Tickets and further information are available from Resident Advisor. Secretsundaze will also be hosting a live interactive interview with Deetron at this Thursday evening (time tbc). The stream will be available over at Ustream, or below.
FACT have four tickets to give away to the event. If you’d like to bag one for yourself and three friends, send an email over to competitions@thevinylfactory.com, including the word ‘Secretsundaze’ and your name in the title field.
