Shut Up And Play The Hits, the merrily titled LCD Soundsystem doc, is set to come to the UK.

The film will open in the UK in late August, with Pulse Films handling distribution. Shut Up And Play The Hits has already shown to a warm reception at Sundance and SXSW. The film was directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace (directors of 2009’s Blur documentary No Distance Left To Run). LCD frontman James Murphy also produced the project.

The film documents LCD Soundsystem’s last ever show at Madison Square Garden in April 2011. The concert has become the stuff of modern legend, a four-hour bonanza somewhere in-between a gig and a worship meet. Shut Up And Play The Hits follows Murphy before, during and after the pivotal performance.
