Legendary hip-hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have put aside personal differences to reunite for this year’s Rock the Bells festival.

The Cleveland crew formed in 1991, and became known for an at-the-time unique, slippery flow that’s been copied by countless artists since. They were signed to Ruthless Records by Eazy-E, formally of N.W.A, who enjoyed a close association with the group until his death – Bone tributed him on their classic 1995 album E. 1999 Eternal, which included the beyond-massive single ‘Tha Crossroads’.

The group’s recent years have been plagued by internal conflict: various members have left the group at various times, though there’s been murmurings of a full reunion album this year to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary.

With today’s news, that album seems closer than ever. The original five members – Krazie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Flesh-N-Bone, Layzie Bone and Wish Bone – will reunite at Rock the Bells to perform E. 1999 Eternal in its entirety.

The festival, which takes place across three weekends (August 18-19, August 25-26 and September 1-2) will also feature a slew of hip-hop’s finest: Method Man and Redman perform their album Blackout in its entirety, while Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa, RZA, Ice Cube, The Hit Squad, A$AP Rocky, Deltron 3030, Timbaland, Missy Elliott and more will touch down for sets.
