Despite the ambient textures and kooky quirks, ‘Al-Qiyamah’ was straight-up lacquered electro-pop. ‘Now You Do’ (streaming over at Spin) is much more ramshackle, and ultimately much more charming. As on fantastic mindfuck ‘Transparency Part III, d’Eon lets loose an array of tinny, scattershot bass tones. Bolstored by ‘O Superman’ backing vocals, he spins out one of his sweetest melodies.
