Soundcrash have assembled a nifty crew of artists for a night of adventurous beatsmithery on July 12. Brainfeeder’s Teebs tops the bill. The L.A. producer and artist makes sun blushed loop-based electronica, shot through with yearning and a powerful sense of romance. 2010’s Ardour remains his gentle calling card, but more recent transmissions shows a tougher edge to his work. He’ll be joined by fellow California resident Nosaj Thing, currently residing on Alpha Pup. Where Teebs is all soft edges, Nosaj Thing goes in for serrated edges and angular electronic textures. His techy brand of glitch-hop, often demure on record, is pretty beefy in a live setting. Ninja Tune’s Eskmo – possibly best known for his Eskamon project with Amon Tobin – rounds out the line-up, blending live vocals with fragmented electronics.
