Back in January it was reported that Mala, arguably dubstep’s greatest ever producer, was working on a Cuba-inspired new album.

The genesis of the project came when Mala accompanied BBC Radio 6’s Gilles Peterson on a trip to Cuba. The Digital Mystikz man was, according to Peterson, inspired to record material with musicians from the island for a new album.

The first Cuba-inspired Mala track emerged a few months later, apparently titled ‘Cuba Electronica’, and now a second cut, ‘Calle F’, has hit the net. Ripped from a recent Peterson radio show, it shows a lighter touch than ‘Cuba Electronica’, with skittish drums circling bleached piano and sax. You can stream it below.
