In a recent interview, Florence Welch has revealed that she’s set aside the Machine in order to tinker with some machines of her own.
Speaking to NME, Welch revealed that she has been casually making “weird house” music as a diversion from her day job. In her words: “We actually have a dance outfit side project called Side Project. We made this weird house track that sounded quite churchy – to be confirmed! As yet it has never seen the light of day.” Oddball house from an archly named side-project? We hope you’re reading this, Amanda Brown.
Welch also revealed her respect for megaproducer du jour Calvin Harris, complimenting his ability to tap into “that mix of catchy and sad – that feeling of complete joy but something tugging at your insides”. Florence And The Machine are currently midway through a worldwide tour off the back of their recent Ceremonials album. Their last bit of new music was ‘Breath Of Life’, plucked from the soundtrack for Snow White And The Huntsman.
