Ice-T’s directorial debut film, Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap will debut in the UK on July 20.

As well as a renowned rapper, Ice-T’s had a fairly successful film and TV career: he’s a regular on Law on Order, and featured in films such as New Jack City, Tank Girl and Johnny Mnemonic. On Something from Nothing, he collaborates with Andy Baybutt to chart the rap music phenomenon through interviews with artists like Nas, Bun B, Eminem, Kanye West and Chuck D. It was premiered at January’s Sundance Film Festival and released in US theatres last month.

Following a screening at the Southbank Centre in London, Ice-T will then take the stage for a Q&A session. For more information, head to the BFI website. You can watch a trailer for the flick below.
