Deejay Earl, one of Chicago’s younger footwork producers, has just dropped his new album.
Titled Audio Fixx, it takes a slightly more leftfield approach to sampling than DJ Rashad’s recent Welcome to the Chi (subjects include Imogen Heap and Sade, as opposed to Rashad’s Watch the Throne and Juicy J) and, as Dummy point out, really does sound composed beyond Earl’s young years (he’s 21), with fresh jazz licks and twinkles of piano darting over tracks.
