Kid Cudi, evidently recovered from his earlier attempts to commit online seppaku, is recruiting a glut of big-name guests for his latest LP.
The Cleveland MC is currently working on a new album, provisionally titled Incubid. Cudi took to Twitter yesterday to announce that the album will feature appearances from longtime associate Kanye West. G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T and mercurial young upstart Kendrick Lamar. Oddly enough, Will Smith’s sprog Jaden will also feature. Less buzzy names include Chip Tha Ripper and Cage.
Cudi also revealed an aspirational list of artists he’s hoping to co-opt for the record. Some seem slightly beyond reach (“Got something for Hov I wanna play him, still gotta link w 50 and Banks”), and others see Cudi reaching out for a little indie credibility (“Hopefully getting in the studio soon w Ratatat, Diplo, and I gotta reach out to MGMT as well.”). Details of how and when Incubid will come out remain sketchy. Cudi’s last release was WZRD, his collaborative project with Dot da Genius.
