Free Sheffield bash Tramlines already boasts a great line-up, and now details have emerged about an essential showcase happening as part of the festival.
On Saturday July 21, Signals will collect a varied assortment of forward thinking artists for a day of discussion and live music. From 12.00pm until 4.00am, a sterling collection of acts will be doing their respective things. Objekt will be presenting his precision-engineered brand of techno, and Demdike Stare will no doubt enchant and disconcert with a live AV set. The mighty snd will be making a (typically challenging, we imagine) appearance, as will shapeshifter DMX Krew and the punishing Randomer. Konx-OM Pax will be doing his mildewy thing, and Pye Corner Audio will also be present and correct, as will a host of newer fringe acts (Murder He Wrote, anyone?)
As well as some natty visual art, Signals also boasts a series of intriguing panel discussions, two of which are chaired by regular FACT contributor Angus Finlayson. The programme is as follows:
The effect of the digital revolution on music media, featuring:
HOST: Angus Finlayson – The Quietus/FACT
Raj Chaudhuri – Bleep.com Marketing Executive/NTS Radio/Boiler Room
Jennifer Allan – The Wire’s online editor
Femi Adeyemi – NTS Radio Founder/Boiler Room
Rory Gibb – The Quietus
