Dead Fader releases strive to do one thing: disconcert.

John Cohen’s grim one man band – formerly a duo, mind – doesn’t have much time for pleasantries. Since 2010’s charred Corrupt My Examiner, Dead Fader has been responsible for a string of incredibly dark, hip-hop inflected releases. Last year’s Luckeeey EP flitted from skittering breakcore to buzzsaw head-nod, and seemed to split its allegiances between Lorn and Zoviet France. Cohen’s ‘Tar River’ project, a long-form noise set, further emphasised his fascination with the ugly and the abrasive.

Robot Elephant Records are now set to release work it, no, a new EP from the Berlin artist. Recent Sensational collab ‘Fishsh’ is among the four tracks to make the cut. The disc will arrive on 12″, with bespoke artwork by Fumihiko Yokouchi. FACT have an exclusive stream of the EP; click below to enjoy the sound of metal on metal.

work it, no is due on July 30 on 12″ and digital.
