Dizzee is joined by protégé Pepper on the superficially uplifting ‘Scream.’

Dizzee Rascal’s beginnings as a grime firebrand have never seemed so far away. ‘Scream’ is a pop-house record featuring the diva vocals of Dirtee Stank-signee Katie Pepper, who admonishes listeners to “scream it from your heart” and “feel it from your soul.” Dizzee’s flow is still sharp, which (for fans of his earlier work) undercuts the song’s inspirational tone.

Dizzee and Pepper join artists such as The Chemical Brothers, Muse, Elton John/Pnau, and Delphic in composing official songs for the Olympics. ‘Scream’ will be released on August 5 and is available to pre-order now. Preview the track with video of a live performance from VFest.
