Calling themselves Analogue Monsta, the duo have joined forces for Boom, out today on Scion AV.

TOKiMONSTA (aka Jennifer Lee) has established herself as a key player in the left-field hip-hop beat scene. She’s signed to Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label, and her beats share an aquatic, off-kilter feel with those of the label’s boss. Philadelphia’s Suzi Analogue is similarly minded, distilling an eclectic set of influences into futuristic R&B a la Erykah Badu.

The duo’s 11-track Boom is a fitting collaboration, breaking down rhythm and bass into its namesake elements. The elastic ‘Nxt Msg,’ with a beat that reverberates into the distance and slinky vocals from Analogue, is typical of the effort.
