After ‘3 Kings,’ the Andre 3000-featuring ‘Sixteen’ is the most anticipated cut on God Forgives, I Don’t.
Luckily, ‘Sixteen’ doesn’t disappoint, unlike ‘3 Kings.’ The hook’s claim that “sixteen ain’t enough” must be true, though, as the song takes nearly eight minutes and countless 16-bar raps to get out the story. Three Stacks is in top form, sounding vital and sly; he offers one of his best guest verses in some time, along with manning the soulful song’s chorus.
On the ridiculously-titled ‘Diced Pineapples’ (the fruit that Ross used as he recovered from his mid-flight stroke), Maybach everyman Wale lays down a cheesy spoken-word intro, along with his verse. Drake is at his most non-threatening on the breathless hook. Stream both tracks before the album’s release next week, but please, excuse the ridiculous YouTube art.
